International Grants & Projects

The PACE Center administers several international grants under the auspices of the following entities:

Howard University Global Initiative Nigeria (HUGIN) – HUGIN’s primary role is to strengthen pharmacy systems and pharmacists’ capacity to provide a wide range of healthcare services/pharmaceutical care with a focus on HIV/AIDS, STIs or TB services at health facilities and community pharmacies;

Howard University Global Initiative South Africa (HUGISA) – HUGISA has a history of implementing health improvement projects in Southern, Central and East African countries that have a disproportionately high prevalence of HIV/AIDS/TB; and

Howard University International (HUI) – HUI’s primary responsibility lies in the strengthening of pharmaceutical care services and health commodity management systems

At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

•Describe the application of pharmaceutical care concept to HIV/AIDS management in a community pharmacy setting

•Identify the various forms of drug therapy problems likely to be encountered while providing ART refill services in a community pharmacy
