ACPE Outcomes Disclosure Information

The Doctor of Pharmacy program at Howard University College of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) until June 30, 2029. ACPE is the only accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit professional degreed program in pharmacy and is located at 190 S. Class of 2023

The Class of 2023 performed above the national average on the PCOA Exam which validates the new curriculum and desired outcomes 2 years in a row since implemented at the College of Pharmacy.

Class of 2022

At May graduation, 97% of the students graduating in the class of 2022 had secured a job or postgraduate training opportunity such as a residency or fellowship.  Moreover, of those applying for residency opportunities during Phase 1, 75% were able to successfully match with an ASHP recognized residency program. 

The residency match rate for Phase 1 is 70% for class of 2022

The Class of 2022 performed above the national average on the PCOA Exam. Class of 2022 reflects a new curriculum of courses implemented at the College of Pharmacy.

The Class of 2022 had a 97% match rate of employment, fellowships, and residencies as of May 2022. 

Class of 2021

The class of 2021 graduation rate was 78.3% of students who completed the PharmD program within 4 years for the Entry Level PharmD.

Nearly 40% of the graduating class of 2021 for the entry-level PharmD were accepted into postgraduate training opportunities with 11 entering residencies and 16 pursuing fellowship positions. Also, over 84% of the class of 2021 were placed in jobs after graduation.

Class of 2020

The Class of 2020 graduation rate was 69.5% of students who completed the Pharm. D. program within 4 years of entry-level & for the Nontraditional Doctor of Pharmacy (NTDP). As of April 2020, 25% of graduates self-reported that they found a job at a community pharmacy, 14% acquired a fellowship, 8% found a position in pharmacy regulatory affairs, 22% were enrolled in a residency program, and 6% found a position in an “other”. Our residency match rate was 50%
