AA/PharmD Program

The AA/PharmD Pathway at Howard University College of Pharmacy provides students with a streamlined route into our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs. To qualify, students must first complete an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree with a concentration in Biology or Chemistry from one of our partnered community colleges.

Our curriculum equips students with essential knowledge in:
- Physiology
- Pharmacology
- Pharmaceutical Math
- Physical Pharmacy
- Drug Delivery and Dosage Forms
- Biopharmaceuticals
- Dispensing Techniques
- Pharmacy Jurisprudence (Law)
- Contemporary Pharmacy Practice
- U.S. Healthcare Systems
- Drugs and Society
- Pharmacy Ethics
Students interested in the program must be currently enrolled at the above institutions. They must be in good academic standing and in preparation to earn their Associates of Arts degree before they start the program. A student who does not complete their AA degree before the start of the PharmD program will have to reapply for the following academic year.
