Amgen: Pharmacovigilance
The Global Patient Safety team is responsible for the pharmacovigilance (PV) activities within Amgen. Pharmacovigilance is the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding, and prevention of adverse events. Our 2-year PV fellowship program is designed to shape future leaders in the pharmaceutical industry and gain core experiences within PV. As a fellow, you will be equipped with a diverse skillset and a deeper understanding of this vital function.
Amgen's product portfolio spans a broad range of therapeutic areas. We focus on six therapeutic areas:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Oncology
- Bone health
- Neuroscience
- Nephrology
- Inflammation
What to Expect:
- Gain versatile skillset, including safety data analysis, problem solving, critical thinking and decision making among others.
- Develop core PV competencies, encompassing strategic and analytical thinking as well as execution of deliverables.
Hands-On Experience:
- Fellows will actively participate in various PV activities, such as adverse event reporting, signal detection, benefit risk assessments, risk management, periodic aggregate reports, and combination product safety.
- Work closely with designated preceptors, mentors and other members of the global team to be an integral team member within the cross-functional organization.
- You will have an opportunity to participate and lead projects allowing you the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders while learning to navigate the complex matrix and team environment.
