Dr. Maria Cowan Clary, c/o 2006
Dr. Maria Cowan Clary, Pharm.D., is a respected and licensed practitioner from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2001 from Bowie State University and her Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2006 from Howard University. She has remained connected to the college as a pharmacy preceptor.
As a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS) stationed at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Silver Spring, Maryland, she leads and collaborates across the agency as a Program Coordinator for the Office of New Drugs. In tandem, Dr. Clary is an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist with Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Clary has held roles in community, hospital, ambulatory care, and regulatory affairs while organizing, planning, and volunteering for impactful community service outreach activities with various organizations. She currently volunteers as the lead trainer for the FDA Captain's Advisory Council's program on opioid overdose response and naloxone responsible for training approximately 1000 health care providers.
She enjoys spending time with her family and actively participates with the Rho Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
