Genentech: Product Development Medical Affairs, Patient Partnership

OVERVIEW: 

The Global Patient Network (GPN) team leads patient community engagement for specific disease areas (DAs) and/or above-DA topic(s) with the goal of driving the inclusion of the patient perspective into all aspects of the company’s plans. GPN facilitates, initiates, streamlines, and manages collaborations between Roche and the patient community that follow key principles of mutual value, integrity and equity, independence and mutual respect, and transparency. During this two-year program, the Fellow will learn how to collaborate with global patient communities across the product lifecycle, encompassing global research, product development, evidence generation, and access to markets and countries. With this approach, the Fellow will assist with initiatives that ensure patient engagement and partnership across the lifecycle of Roche/Genentech innovations.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Fellow will specifically focus on assisting with initiatives that ensure patient engagement across the lifecycle of Roche/Genentech innovations. The Fellow's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives that will support the GPN team in integrating the voice of underserved, underrepresented patients into daily workflow  
  • Conducting literature reviews and desk research to collect patient insights and develop patient journey roadmaps for new disease areas where Roche/Genentech is developing new molecules  
  • Developing and implementing a digital patient engagement approach to enable GPN to collaborate with non-traditional, online patient communities in support of Roche/Genentech priorities  
  • Moderate patient community dialogue and feedback on Roche-owned digital platforms with focus on improving patient experience, creating a culture of real-time patient input and complementing the organization's interest in omnichannel communications 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Ability to build deep and meaningful relationships with patient stakeholders. 
  • Emotional intelligence and ability to see issues from both, a patient/patient community and Roche perspective to drive mutually valuable solutions forward 
  • Adaptability and open-mindedness to collaboratively learn, address and solve new topics and situations 
  • Ability to learn and work across multiple cultures and countries 
  • High ethical standards and the ability to view the world from the patient's perspective
