We’re excited to announce the launch of our Online Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Pathway, a flexible, high-quality program designed for driven students who are ready to take the next step in their pharmacy careers without putting their lives on hold. 

Whether you're a working professional, a parent balancing family responsibility, or someone living outside the D.C. area with a desire for the HBCU experience, this new online option provides the academic excellence, professional training, and community support that Howard University College of Pharmacy is known for with a format that fits your schedule. 

What Is the Online PharmD Pathway? 

The Online PharmD Pathway is a fully accredited professional doctoral program that prepares students to become licensed pharmacists through a combination of online coursework, hybrid labs, and experiential learning. It mirrors our traditional program in academic rigor, outcomes, and faculty engagement, offering the flexibility today’s students need. 
 

Who Is It For? 

The new online pathway is ideal for: 

• Students unable to relocate due to work or family
• Career changers seeking a respected and flexible PharmD program
• Individuals in rural or underserved areas looking to improve healthcare access in their communities
• International applicants living in the U.S.  
   

What Will You Learn? 

Our curriculum equips students with essential knowledge in: 

• Pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug safety
• Patient care and clinical decision-making 

• Public health and community pharmacy 

• Pharmacy law and ethics 

• Leadership, research, and healthcare innovation 

• Students will also complete Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs and APPEs) in approved clinical settings near their home.
