Objectives:
- Training: The fellow must successfully complete the New Hire Training program, which provides an in-depth understanding of immunology, the dupilumab mechanism of action, a range of allergic and respiratory diseases, therapeutic area techniques, and the application of dupilumab.
- Understanding Immunology Roles: The fellow will gain a deep understanding of key functions within Sanofi's Medical Affairs Immunology teams, including U.S. Medical, U.S. Medical Information, and the U.S. Clinical Studies Unit. This includes identifying opportunities for growth and development in Medical Affairs.
- Applying Learnings into Practice: The fellow will acquire hands-on experience through opportunities across various functions, which may include managing their own territory, participating in medical and commercial team collaborations, and performing responsibilities in the MSL role. These activities are designed to gather insights and help shape strategic decisions.
- Building Collaborative Relationships: The fellow will work on fostering collaborative relationships between the U.S. Medical teams and other internal stakeholders, including brand teams, marketing, and other commercial partners.
- Managing Workstreams within U.S. Medical: The fellow will be responsible for managing various workstreams, including the creation of resources, deliverables, and internal team resources, not limited to these areas.
- Learning in a Matrixed Organization: An important aspect of the fellowship is learning to navigate the complex structure of a highly matrixed organization, building an understanding of how each function contributes to the overall success of the immunology franchise and patient care.
Sanofi Component:
The Dupilumab US Medical Affairs Fellowship introduces the fellow to various roles within the US Medical organization, including Medical Strategy, Medical Communications, Publications, and several Field Roles. As part of the U.S. MSL team focusing on dupilumab, the fellow is required to complete the MSL training program, support the U.S. medical strategy, and participate in the medical field-based activities in-house, contributing to the development of the overall medical strategy. In the second year of the fellowship, the fellow will have an opportunity to rotate into other Medical roles within the Medical Affairs team and support ongoing strategic initiatives for dupilumab and the broader immunology program.
Ideal Candidate:
- PharmD, Biomedical PhD, or relevant Clinical degree.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Therapeutic expertise (stays abreast of data, treatment trends, and new information in the profession and can articulate therapeutic knowledge).
- Ability to prioritize and executes multiple responsibilities and projects.
